  • National Security Space Institute (NSSI) - formerly called Space Operations School (SOPSC) - DoD's single focal point for space education and training
    • Vision - To be the "Air Corps Tactical School of Space"
    • Mission - Air Force lead in the development and instruction of Space Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTP), concepts, and systems knowledge required to prepare warfighters for military operations
    • History - On 28 June 2001, Air Force Space Command (AFSPC) activated the SOPSC. Upon activation, the unit became AFSPC’s premiere education and training unit with a focus of TTP application and space power integration. In addition, the SOPSC is the executive agent for AFSPC TTP development
    • Courses - wide variety of short courses offered in-residence and through distance learning (thru AFIT)
    • Computer Based Training (CBT) and Courseware - with CD-ROM order form

    • Space Power Lab (SPL) announced - "a state-of-the-art modeling and simulation facility that will help space professionals gain the knowledge and skills necessary integrate space-based capabilities into joint theater planning and operations"

  • Navy Space Cadre site and resources
    • logon to NKO (the Navy portal) - and click on "Register for NKO" (if you're Navy)
      • DoD space folks not in the Navy can also log onto NKO, but will need to click on "Register for a Guest Account" - you'll need a current NKO admin person for "Your Sponsor's NKO User Name." If you are indeed a DoD space person, you may get this sponsor name by requesting one in an email to space.cadre@netwarcom.navy.mil. Be sure to provide your full name, rank, service, and space job you currently fill or will be filling.
    • Once you've logged on, "Space Cadre" is located under "Communities" on the "Home" page.
    • Among other things, a user can link to the "Space Knowledge Center" from there, which contains archives of references, including NNSOC Domain magazine and the Naval Space Forum.
